4 teaching items to recommend (December)
This month I'd like to share four things that have been so fun in my studio and I hope you'll like them too!
Enjoy 🙌
I discovered this series this year and it's been a huge success in my studio. I used book 2 with an adult student who is in Royal Conservatory Level 3 and she was so please with how pretty the arrangements are.
I teach several young boys who absolutely LOVE video games. Chrissy has created this series which captures the imagination of the boys and they are just thrilled to play every piece in the book. I am currently using Volume Two with a student in Piano Adventures Level 2B.
⏳ Note Rush App
This app is a favourite in my studio amongst all ages of students. It displays a note on the screen and you have to play it on your instrument (very much like flashcards). Each level has a specific range of notes and the goal is to play the notes correctly in the least amount of time.
I place post-it flags on the pieces that students are to practice each week. This makes the pages in their book(s) easy to find and it's also easy to visualize how many pieces they need to practice. Post-its can also be used to mark in any difficult spots in a piece of music or starting and ending places of a section.
That’s all for now!
